Action adjustments need to be performed from time to time as certain parts of your piano wear down faster than others. As this happens, the feel of your piano will change unevenly throughout the keyboard. Sometimes these effects are obvious and immediately visible. When you look at the keys of your piano, do some keys appear lower than others? When you play, do some keys feel more or less firm than others? These are symptoms of age and require a technician to perform small adjustments in the action (pictured above) in order to achieve a tangible balance.
